Morning in the Marsh (Killdeer)

I was laying down in the swampy grass on the edge of a marshy body of water trying to photography any waterfowl that might swim by when I noticed this killdeer looking for bugs in the mud along the waters edge. After adverting my attention to it, I was able to get some shots. I just love that bright red ring around their eyes! I’ve also been fortunate enough to see killdeer do their broken wing act, something they will often do when they’re trying to distract you from finding their nest nearby! A cool bird for sure!
